Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your email.

I am familiar with the Libertarian position and believe that this is not a matter of either or, but both and. As with the drug trade, one does need to deal with the organised crime syndicates, drug smugglers, drug dealers, etc. As well as deal it a death blow in the free market economy.

I am receptive to strategic out-manoeuvring of the ungodly, and we most certainly never support repression! Our Mission is a Protestant Mission and the Reformation introduced to the world: freedom of conscience, freedom of thought, freedom of movement, freedom of association, freedom of the press, freedom of speech, the separation of powers and the rule of law.

We know that rhino horn in no way is beneficial as a medicine. Your point that the natural mortality rate of rhinos can yield as much horn as has been poached to supply the market, is an interesting perspective. That rhino horn should be a renewable resource that can be harvested without killing rhinos needs further investigation.

Surely the goal should be to stop the organised crime syndicates at work while at the same time moving to a renewable resource harvesting of rhino who die naturally. That should be implemented.

Rhinos should be viewed as more valuable alive for tourism, than dead for some superstitious Asians.

May the Lord continue to lead us into more innovative and effective means of preserving, protecting and conserving wildlife.

Yours for all God’s Creatures
